Alison Boyle, Inclusion Manager, co-ordinates cross-campus support for students with additional support needs.
Alison acts as initial point of contact for applicants, their parents and external agencies to ensure that appropriate advice is given and additional or specialist resources sourced as necessary. She also liaises with many external agencies, including regional social work departments regarding funding packages for the students with additional needs who wish to access mainstream courses.
She works closely with local schools regarding students with additional support needs including those with autistic disorders, physical disabilities or behavioural difficulties and arranges transition periods to ensure a supported change to college education.
Alison represents the college in various initiatives such as Involve, Same as You and BRITE and events relating to students with additional needs.
As well as managing the Supported Accommodation, the Head of Inclusion also provides training and awareness raising sessions on Autistic Spectrum Disorders and consultancy services related to Autism and any health-related issues or disabilities.
