Elmwood College students & staff enthusiastically played their part in raising money for Comic Relief.
Fundraising activities included fancy dress, cake & candy, quizzes, karaoke, car wash, sponsored silence and custard pie throwing. Staff and students also toured the college in a giant conga. The funds raised were in the region of £400, with more money to come in.
Student President & HND Animal Care student, Adam Nicholson, said, “It was a successful day with lots of students and staff participating! On the strength of the day I hope to get involved again next year! Comic Relief is a great example of how communities express their support to help change the lives of children everywhere. I’m proud to be a very small part of this.”
The money Comic Relief raise is allocated to a wide range of grants and social investments aimed at delivering real and long-lasting change to the poorest, most vulnerable people at home and across the world; as well as informing the public and young people in particular about global citizenship and the underlying causes of extreme poverty.
