Elmwood College in conjunction with Kirkcaldy North Primary School held a day of interactive hair & beauty activities for thirteen primary 6 pupils recently.
As part of the Primary schools 'World at Work Week' the pupils had the opportunity to experience a range of different hairdressing treatments offered by Elmwood and also to see what life as a college student is like. The pupils were invited to see clients having their hair coloured and styled by Introduction to Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy students as well as assist with some of the treatments.
Elmwood has developed close links with many local schools, promoting courses to pupils of all ages. Elmwood is keen to inspire potential students no matter how young and is constantly seeking new ways of raising awareness of further education.
Kirkcaldy North teacher, Carol Wearing said, “The pupils had such a great time at Elmwood. It’s an excellent opportunity for pupils and teachers to see and take part in a range of different tasks. I especially enjoyed seeing the pupils interact with the students in the hair & beauty salon.”
