Three former Elmwood College students have recently secured exciting new positions working at the famous Gleneagles Spa, Hotel & Golf Resort.
Scott Davidson, Claire Lund and Duncan McLachlan all completed the HNC Professional Cookery course at the College this year. Scott and Claire have both appointed to the posts of 2nd Commis Chef and Duncan to the post of 1st Commis Chef. They all began working at the resorts, Dormy Clubhouse earlier this summer.
Head Chef Jeremy Brazelle from Gleneagles, said, “The students are all highly respected and are already carving out a fantastic career for themselves. Their training and experience at Elmwood made them the obvious choices for these appointments. They are a very important addition to the Gleneagles team.”
Gleneagles currently has four restaurants. The Strathearn is the hotel's main and most formal restaurant, the Deseo, which is a Mediterranean family restaurant. In addition there is The Dormy Clubhouse, which serves traditional British food daily and the fourth, Andrew Fairlie's, a fine dining two Michelin star restaurant.
Scott said, “I enjoyed my time at Elmwood, where I was taught about the high standards required for industry. I am extremely proud to be associated with the Gleneagles name, one of the finest in the hospitality sector.”
Vicki Munro, Hospitality Lecturer at Elmwood, said, “The students have always been enthusiastic and were always willing to learn something new, whilst still maintaining good traditional hospitality practices. I’m not surprised that they are all firmly on their way to long and successful careers in the hospitality industry.”
