College Welcomes Students

Elmwood College has started the new academic year by welcoming over 1000 students, from Fife and beyond.

International students studying at Elmwood this year have come from as far afield as The Middle East, Europe, South Africa, China, North America and the Republic of Ireland. One student from Bahrain who has enrolled on our HNC Golf Course Management course, has also enrolled to study a VQ course at the same time!

Students are undertaking a diverse range of subjects, including Childcare, Interior Decoration and Holistic Therapies. Next week sees the start of classes and the College’s annual Freshers’ Week activities.

HND Golf Course Management student Lucas Boettcher from Germany has been at Elmwood for 3 years now and said, “There are other colleges I could have studied at, but for me the only natural choice was Elmwood. I really feel like this is a second home now and can’t believe it’s been 3 years since I began the studying here.”

Principal Jim Crooks recently welcomed the new students to Elmwood saying: “At Elmwood we are constantly reminded how over 1000 people entrust us with a considerable part of their lives in full time study. We have expanded our student numbers to give as many as possible this chance of realising their dreams – and in some areas there is still capacity to take more students.”
