Talented Fife chef and former Elmwood Student, Ian Boyd-Thorpe has enjoyed double success recently.
Not only was he awarded 'Student of the Year' during his final year at Elmwood, but since working at The Peat Inn restaurant since May last year, he has also helped the popular restaurant receive a Michelin star.
Ian spent three years studying at Elmwood College, completing the NVQ Level 2 & 3 Food Preparation and Cooking and the HNC Professional Cookery courses.
Ian said, "I really enjoyed my time at Elmwood. It has a great reputation and after a brief chat with some of the lecturing staff, I decided to enrol. I found all of the courses I studied to be a great step to helping to achieve my goal of employment within hospitality industry. I still can't quite believe it! All of the staff at the restaurant are really proud to have achieved a much sought after Michelin Star!"
Elmwood College lecturer, Willie Balfour described Ian as, "An enthusiastic, model student with such a wonderful attitude and eagerness to learn. Working at The Peat Inn is a great opportunity for him to develop his skills and career opportunities at a high profile restaurant."
