Elmwood College are gearing up for the annual British Turf Management Exhibition in Harrogate and as the largest event of its kind in Europe, the show attracts visitors associated with Turf Management, the Ground Care Industry and Club Facility Management.
Harrogate Week 2010 will see BIGGA (The British and International Greenkeepers Association) collaborating with a wide range of businesses ensuring that the third week in January will see the greatest ever cross section of people converging on the North Yorkshire spa town. The show will host familiar names in the Ground Care Industry, as well as a large number of companies who will be exhibiting for the first time. The event will also offer visitors the chance to learn of updates on all aspects of turf grass diseases and the different approaches to tackling them.
Wayne Roberts, Section Manager for Greenkeeping and Landbased Engineering at Elmwood, said, “This is a very exciting event for us to attend; as the leading provider of golf related education and training in Europe, this is an ideal opportunity to meet with industry, renew old friendships and forge new partnerships.”
Elmwood offers a wide range of courses from National Certificate to Higher National Diploma level and includes many specialist subjects such as Golf Studies, Golf Course Management, Greenkeeping, Sports Coaching with Golf Development and Professional Golf.
Internationally, the College is recognised as a Centre of Excellence in golf related studies, which appeals to students from across the globe. One of the attractions for studying golf at Elmwood is the College’s 18-hole golf course, where students can develop their practical skills and gain valuable work experience.
