Elmwood Golf Course was chosen as the only Scottish venue event for Toro UK ‘s Toro on Tour Roadshow. Demonstrations of a wide range of new Toro equipment took place on the recently opened driving range.
Toro UK have been creating high quality products in the turf and landscape market since 1914 and are widely regarded as industry leaders. Toro on Tour allows Golf Course Managers and their staff to see and try out Toro’s latest equipment imported directly from the USA.
The extensive range of equipment was demonstrated in a real golf environment attracting Golf Course Managers from courses as far afield as Aberdeen and the Borders. There was a real mix of courses represented, including Carnoustie and Kingsbarns, from those managed by a single person to those with large teams of staff.
The Golf Course Manager at Forfar Golf Club, David Raitt, said “It is a great chance to see new machinery in an informal setting. We saw demonstrations of equipment, which is new to the UK. Elmwood Golf Course is a good venue for us to travel to within our working day.”
Toro’s Business Development Manager, George MacDonald, explained why Toro UK chose Elmwood Golf Course, “The course is in a central location in Scotland for our event and we have developed a good relationship with Elmwood since 1997 and we get excellent value for money. The facilities are first class and the Golf Operations Manager, Andrew Mellon, has a real eye for detail, taking good care of us. The Clubhouse menu is delicious.”
Golf Operations Manager, Andrew Mellon, from Elmwood, thanked Toro for taking the time to visit and demonstrate their latest machines. The college has worked with Toro since the Golf Course was built in 1998, and have been updating their fleet regularly with the latest models. Andrew said, “I’m very comfortable with the reliability of the machinery, its ease of use and maintenance, and also the efficiency of spare parts delivery and technical support. I’m looking forward to receiving our new equipment and continuing to develop our relationship.”
