Elmwood College Golf Course hosted the Annual Principal’s Cup recently with eighteen teams from Scotland’s College’s and other further education establishments taking part.
A team from James Watt College won the event, with Langside College second and Elmwood College came in third place.
This was Elmwood’s Principal, Jim Crook’s second experience of hosting the event, he commented, “The tournament went exceptionally well and was helped by some good weather! Everyone who participated were more than happy to be involved.”
He continued, “There was a great atmosphere of camaraderie, fun and an appropriate level of competitiveness on the day. I’ve only recently taken up golf and plan to play in next years event!”
Elmwood offers a wide range of courses from National Certificate to Higher National Diploma level and includes many specialist subjects such as Golf Studies, Golf Course Management, Greenkeeping, Sports Coaching with Development and Professional Golf.
Internationally, the College is recognised as a Centre of Excellence in golf related studies, which appeals to students from across the globe. One of the attractions of studying golf at Elmwood is the College’s 18-hole golf course, where students can develop their practical skills and gain valuable work experience.
