It’s a good course; I really enjoy colouring and cutting. I have made some good friends and am looking forward to coming back next year.
Elmwood College’s Hair and Beauty students recently won first and third place at the Hair and Beauty Festival in Aberdeen.
This is the sixth year this event has been running which gives hairdressing and beauty therapy trainees and students the chance to participate in a number of competitions, culminating in the announcement of the 'North East Trainee Hairdresser' and the 'North East Trainee Make-Up Artist' of the year.
Twenty-five students and models from Elmwood College were invited to attend the festival at the Beach Ballroom in Aberdeen on Thursday 12 November 2009.
Beauty therapy student Tammy Carstairs was placed first in the Fantasy Make-up section and hairdresser Louise Keddie was awarded third place in the Ladies Evening Style section.
Hair and beauty lecturers Janice Whyte and Karin Anderson are proud of the students’ achievements saying, “ The students worked hard in preparation for the event and their hard work and commitment was rewarded with two trophies and they enjoyed the opportunity to test their skills in a competitive environment.”
