Two Visual Merchandising students at Elmwood College have been congratulated for their outstanding performance while on work placement at John Lewis and Jenners, Edinburgh.
Students, Debbie Dargie and Debbie Hynd are both studying the Level 3 Visual Merchandising course at Elmwood spent 12 weeks in the department stores, creating exciting window displays.
Debbie Dargie, said, "The work placements have been an excellent opportunity to gain experience and put into practice all I had been taught at Elmwood."
Assistant Visual Merchandising Manager, Lesley Blakelock at John Lewis, said, "The students were a great help in supporting the team at a really busy time of year. Having the students for work experience was a delight. They both had the passion and enthusiasm needed to work in this kind of industry."
Lecturer, Anne Leitch, said, "The placements are key for putting into practice what has been learned in the classroom. Visual Merchandising is an excellent way to professionally maximise product display and generate more sales. The support from retailers both large and small has been tremendous. Many of our students have been on placements with local businesses, benefiting both our students and the businesses involved."
To the employers involved, I would like to express our gratitude for the support and encouragement you have given to the students."
