First of the Year

Students with new lambs. Left is Angus Cessford and right is Darren Aitchison.Students at Elmwood College were pleased to witness new arrivals being born at the College farm this week.

Farm Resource Manager, Peter McKinnon was on hand with agriculture students, helping expectant sheep to deliver their lambs.

Rearing sheep is a major part of the agriculture industry in the UK and taking part in lambing the College’s flock of 150 Ewes is an important part of the student experience.

Peter said,  "This is an ideal opportunity for students to get more involved with farm animals in a safe environment. This is something that most people don't get a chance to see every day!"

I really enjoyed my time here and the practical nature of the course was great. I have learned so much and can now return to my employer a better shepherd.
