The St Andrews branch of the Soroptimists have chosen to support students at Elmwood through their fundraising work over the next 2 years. The work of supported accommodation service that Elmwood provides for student with additional needs, enticed Anne Rutherford to contact Alison Boyle, our Inclusion Manager who runs this service. After giving a presentation and introducing some students to the Soroptimists, Alison was given the good news that they would take Elmwood under their charitable wing for the next two years.
The soroptimists are an International organisation for women who are committed to advancing the status of women and human rights for all.
Plans are now underway to upgrade one of the supported accommodation houses at the main College campus which will be supported through the Soroptimists.
Alison said, “We are delighted to be chosen to receive this support when there are so many worthwhile causes in the community. We appreciate the additional benefits this will provide for our students and are looking forward to working with them.”
