Learning Resource Centre
Introduction
The College Learning Resource Centre houses library and flexible learning facilities. The Library offers a wide range of resources and facilities to support our staff
and students within a user-friendly study environment.
A variety of study space for group or individual work
enables students to carry out research and prepare their
project work while our networked IT facilities offer
the opportunity to put a professional finish to their
work.
Facilities and Services
Library Services
Library resources including books, journals, on-line resources, DVDs and videos are regularly updated to support the college curriculum.

Borrowing Resources
All students are entitled to borrow, free of charge,up to six resources at any one time. Loan periods vary from overnight to three weeks depending on the resource. Resource reservation and renewal systems are operated.
Induction/Assistance
All students receive, at the start of their courses, small group induction sessions on the services and facilities and these are followed with ongoing assistance throughout the year. Library staff provide assistance with assessing subject specific electronic resources and the compiling of references and bibliographies. In addition a range of leaflets are available covering general library information, how to access electronic information, and how to compile a bibliography. There are links to the leaflets from our online catalogue.
Information Service/Inter-library Loans
Library staff advise and assist with information/literature searching using a variety of sources and they will also borrow resources on behalf of staff or students from our network of external links.
Special Collections
Autism Information Collection - a comprehensive range of books, videos, journals and pamphlets on autism and related disorders.
Andrew Murray Memorial Collection - a comprehensive range of books relating to sports turf put together in memory of Andrew Murray who, during his life, contributed greatly to the training of people in Fife in the sports turf industry both in the field and here at Elmwood. The collection is funded by the Institute of Groundsmanship, Scotland Region.
IT Facilities
Nineteen PCs are available for researching and processing projects. All PCs run current software applications and there is free access to the internet and e-mail. The PCs are connected to black and white network printer and colour printing is available on request.
Opening Hours
During term time the Centre is open:
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 08.45 – 19.30
Wednesday 08.45 – 20.30
Friday 08.45 - 16.30
Vacation opening times are arranged and advertised prior to each holiday period.
