R&A BURSARY SCHEME FOR INTERNATIONAL GOLF GREENKEEPERS

The R&A bursary is a contribution towards the educational costs of students per academic year at two GTC Approved institutions in the Scheme, Elmwood College and Myrescough College.

Only those meeting College entry requirements are eligible to apply for an R&A Bursary.

Applicants must be actively engaged in the greenkeeping industry and must be able to provide evidence to this effect in the form of references.

At Elmwood, the International Bursaries are provided for students with formal offers of places on NC, HNC, and HND courses in golf greenkeeping related subjects.

Applications for a Bursary are open to all who fulfil the above criteria, irrespective of age, gender, ethnicity or nationality.

The R&A funds the Bursaries awarded and the Colleges select the recipients in consultation with representatives of the R&A Golf Course Committee.

In general, a Bursary may be used for educational purposes, including tuition fees, books, room and board.

Each year of the award, the recipient(s) will have to produce information for the R&A and Elmwood College to help demonstrate how the award has helped them to complete their studies. This delivery of the information will be agreed with the recipient, which will be published by the R&A and Elmwood College, and help demonstrate the benefits of the award.
