Fees and Scholarships

R&A Scholarship Scheme for International Golf Greenkeepers
The R&A Scholarship is recognition of potential in a student greenkeeper and takes the form of a financial contribution towards the educational costs of the student at two GTC approved institutions in the scheme, SRUC, Elmwood Campus and Myerscough College.

Applications are welcomed from students enrolled on a part-time course with SRUC, Elmwood Campus, and who are currently employed in the greenkeeping industry, or those enrolled on a full time course.  Applications are made in writing with candidates then selected by Elmwood and the R&A for interview, either in person or by telephone.  This process takes place each year in September and October.

Successful candidates can use their award for educational purposes of their choice, which might include tuition fees, accommodation costs, travel, books or subscriptions, or attendance at relevant industry events.  In return Scholars are asked to contribute to an on-line discussion forum and keep the R&A and Elmwood College informed of their career progress.  There are additional opportunities such as a study week to Askernish Golf Club in the Western Isles, and attendance at the Open Championship for a day as a guest of the R&A.

Applications are welcomed from all students on relevant courses.

An application form can be found on the link below, and should be submitted electronically to paul.miller@sruc.ac.uk
