The course is designed to provide an introduction to ladies hairdressing, gaining hands-on skills and theoretical knowledge of all aspects of this field.

How will I Study?
The course, taught within the Charlie Taylor Academy, is delivered over six twelve-week blocks.

Course Content
Shampoo and condition hair and scalp
Cut hair using basic techniques
Change hair colour using basic techniques
Perm and neutralise hair using basic techniques
Fulfil salon reception duties
Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
Give clients a positive impression of yourself and your organisation
Promot additional products and services to clients.
Style, dress and finish hair using basic techniques

Job Opportunities and Progression Routes
NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing students can progress onto Level 3 or employment as a trainee stylist in a salon environment.

Who is the Course For?
This course is designed for students who wish to progress into advanced hairdressing techniques and Higher Education. It is also designed for people who wish to complete Modern Apprenticeships.

Entry Requirements
Candidates require to have completed an NVQ level 2 or National Certificate modules. Applicants with a mature attitude seeking a change in career are welcome and will be assessed on an individual basis.

How will I Study?
The course is delivered on a day release period of one year.

The course is designed for people who wish to pursue a career in the beauty therapy industry.

Entry Requirements
Applicants require a minimum of 4 Standard Grades at 3 or 4, one of which should be English. They should also demonstrate a commitment to a career in the beauty industry. Applicants with a mature attitude seeking a change in career are welcome and will be assessed on an individual basis.
