NC Digital Media Computing Level 4/5

Who is the Course For?
The course is designed for those who wish to undertake a career in Multimedia or Web design and development. The course is a combination of traditional computing and gives the design skills required for progression into the area of communication through information technology.

Entry Requirements
Applicants require to have a minimum of 4 standard grades at 5 or 6 for entry onto level 4 and 4 standard grades at level 3 or 4 for entry onto level 5. In both cases, English is a requirement. Applicants with a mature attitude who are seeking a change in career are welcome and will be assessed on an individual basis at interview.

How will I Study?
Over a period of 36 weeks, you will learn the varied application packages and skills required to understand and operate a computer system effectively. You will build portfolios of evidence and undertake a project that will reflect your ability and understanding of all aspects of your course.

HNC Web Development: Visual Communication

Who is the Course For?
This course provides training for people interested in developing a career in the field of Web Page Design and Development. The course will also introduce you to other types of Multimedia Applications.

Entry Requirements
Applicants should have 2 Highers at C or above or a National Certificate in a relevant subject. Students must have Numeracy, Communication and IT at Intermediate 2 level. Applicants with a mature attitude who are seeking a change in career are welcome and will be assessed on an individual basis.

How will I Study?
The course is delivered over 3 twelve-week blocks.

Who is the Course For?
People who have successfully completed an HNC Visual Communication in the field of Graphic Design, and are keen to progress their qualification to the next level.

Entry Requirements
Successful completion of HNC Visual Communication in Graphic Design.

How will I Study?
Over a period of 36 weeks, you will be required to attend classes and tutorials which will develop your skills in the field of Web Development. Workshop-based projects are the foundation of this level of qualification.
SCQF level for this course is Level 8
Attendance 2 years full-time, 4 years part-time
