Who is the Course For?
The course is designed for people who wish to work in
the animal care industry.
Entry Requirements
Applicants require a minimum of 4 Standard Grades at
3 or 4, one of which should be English. You should have
a genuine interest in caring for animals. Applicants with a mature attitude seeking a change in career are welcome and will be assessed on an individual basis.
How will I Study?
The course is delivered over 3 twelve week blocks. Practical experience is gained in the
small animal unit at the college farm and local animal
care establishments. One weeks work experience is an
integral part of the course.
SCQF level for this course is Level 4/5

On successful completion you can move on to a job in
animal care related businesses such as kennels, catteries,
welfare centres, wildlife parks and pet shops, or to
Higher National Certificate courses.
