Aim of Course
Provide the candidate with the basic knowledge and practical skills involved in operating the Forward Tipping Dumper
Duration of Course
The course is scheduled for 4 days although this may alter depending on the candidate's experience.
Healthy and Safety Training
All candidates should have passed the Health and Safety Touch Screen Test within 2 years of their course commencing.
Identify the basic construction and components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges.
Identify and comply with manufacturers instructions in accordance with the operator's handbook, other information sources and application legislation.
Carry out all pre-use and running checks.
Set the Dumper for site and road travel.
Travel over different types of terrain, including rough undulating ground, both in a loaded and unloaded state.
Travel up and down substantial inclines in a loaded and unloaded state.
Manoeuvre in confined areas using forward and reverse direction, in a loaded and unloaded state.
Position the dumper to receive loads.
Comply with loading procedures.
Ensure the load integrity and security.
Discharge loads into trenches or over edges.
Place the dumper in and out-of-service condition.
Explain the loading and unloading procedures on and off a transporter.
Testing and Certification
All candidates will complete the Full (Theory and Practical) CPCS Technical Test and on successful completion will be issued with a CPCS Red Trained Operators Card.
