Forklift (Telescopic/Rough Terrain/Industrial)
Aim of Course
To provide the candidate with the basic knowledge and practical skills involved in operating the Forklift
Duration of Course
The course is scheduled for 5 days although this may alter depending on the candidate's experience.
Healthy and Safety Training
All candidates should have passed the Health and Safety Touch Screen Test within 2 years of their course commencing.
Identify the basic construction and components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges.
Identify and comply with manufacturers instructions in accordance with the operator's handbook, other information sources and application legislation.
Explain all the relevant documentation.
Carry out all pre-use and running checks.
Configure the tele-handler for site and road travel.
Travel over differing types of terrain, including rough undulating ground (Not relevant for Industrial Telescopic)
Manoeuvre in a confined space using forward and reverse direction, both loaded and unloaded.
Set telescopic handler in order to lift various loads.
Lift and place various loads within the full range of the telescopic handler.
Ensure load integrity and security.
Place and retrieve loads accurately in various places.
Place and retrieve loads from a vehicle bed or trailer.
Testing and Certification
All candidates will complete the Full (Theory and Practical) CPCS Technical Test and on successful completion will be issued with a CPCS Red Trained Operators Card.
