ECDL Essentials

BCS Chartered Institute for IT is the accreditation body for ECDL Essentials. At the end of each module of study a 45 minute examination needs to be undertaken in college.

The three modules that make up ECDL Essentials are:

Security for IT Users

Security Awareness
Protecting your PC
Information Security
Technology Security

IT User Fundamentals

Managing Files
Running Applications
Control Panel
Systems Maintenance

Using Email and the Internet

Browsing the web
Electronic mail

Cost £150

After achievement of ECDL Essentials students can then progress onto the ECDL Extra. Students who achieve both the ECDL Essentials and ECDL Extra are eligible for ECDL certification.
